Are you thinking bullshit thoughts?
Posted on 14. Jan, 2010 by Jeffrey Platts in Archives, Self Empowerment
This blog took a long time to happen. Or rather let’s say, the actual implementation of it literally took only a day. (Big thanks to David Henry and WooThemes.) The “long time” part happened because I was letting my mind’s bullshit thoughts run the show on whether to do it or not.
What bullshit thoughts were you thinking, Jeffrey? Well, the ones like: “Who the heck is gonna listen to what you have to say?” “There are tons of other bloggers and sites out there, you’ll be just one more.” “You’re not qualified enough.” “You’re too young.”
So one day (January 5, 2010, to be exact), I let my Higher Self take the helm of the ship, reclaim its role as the Captain and decided to create this site. In other words, I allowed my thoughts to simply be thoughts. They may be true. Or not. They may be calls to action. Or not. They may need to be given attention. Or not. It’s my Higher Self that is the inner authority. Always.
What bullshit thoughts might you be letting hold you back from moving forward in some big or small way? Here’s a tip on what’s a bullshit thought: if when you think it, you then feel like shit, then it’s probably a bullshit thought.
Or any thought that makes you feel small or play small. Chances are, the opposite is actually what’s really true. And it’s NOT about fighting or resisting the thoughts when they come up. It’s simply using your emotional guidance as a signal that what you’re thinking probably isn’t even true. Then it’s about choosing a thought that brings you some form of emotional relief. And repeat.
Forget who’s your daddy. Who’s your CAPTAIN?

Reminds me of “New Year’s Resolution” by Donovan. That song exterminates bullshit thoughts. Love it.
